MDVGA February News Update

We have started the year with two well attended events:

  • Gardiners Run and Settlers Run

Our next events are

  • The Heritage - St Johns Course on March 4 - with bookings opening on Monday Feb 26 and
  • Rosanna on March 18 with bookings opening on March 11. This is also the first round of the Club Championships

Gardiners Run 

A field of 70 members attended today’s event played at the Gardiners Run Golf Course. The course was in excellent condition and was well suited to the Vets, not too long and with relatively flat greens. After experiencing very hot Sunday temperatures, the next morning conditions were perfect for golf, very mild temperatures, overcast and just a hint of rain at lunch time.

Winner of A Grade with 39 Points was Cec Bailey from Spring Valley.

B Grade was Margaret Harbinson from Eastern with 42 Points.  For a detailed Match Report - click here

Settlers Run

A field of 54 members and guests played today’s event at the Settlers Run Golf and Country Club. The course was again in an excellent condition, fairways firm and lush, the greens a little slow but still very tricky to read for some. The day started off mild and cloudy with little or no breeze, so perfect golfing weather. 

 A warm welcome was extended to our two member guests, Neil Aubert from Settlers Run and Noel Carter from Rosanna. The competition on the day was 4BBB crossover so that each player was partnered with all the other players in their group of three or four.

The winners were Mike Steventon and Ross Graham, both from Northcote with a score of 48 points. The runners up were John Tanti and Rod Parry, also both from Northcote with a score of 47 points.

Next Event

Will be held at the prestigious Heritage on the Jack Nicklaus designed St Johns Course on March 4. Bookings for this event will open on Monday February 26 at 5pm
